Two weeks ago on RAW (and at SummerSlam), The Club attacked The Shield prior to their match causing an injury to Seth Rollins that may have played a hand in The Club defeating The Shield last week on RAW. Tonight in Philly, Seth Rollins is all healed up and is 100% and ready to take on The Club!

The WWE United States Champion Chris Jericho comes out to the ring so the WWE Universe can drink in their WWE United States Champion. He brags about kicking Randy Orton away from his spotlight and back to SmackDown Live before telling everybody that he was right when he said that he was the true United States Champion.

RAW General Manager Mick Foley interrupts Jericho and informs him and the WWE Universe that it's time that they found a new challenger for Chris. So tonight there will be a #1 Contender's Triple Threat Match between Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn and Finn Balor. However, it won't be just any ordinary match because they are all...right here...in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania! The home of hardcore! The home field of ECW! Tonight's main event will be a Triple Threat Extreme Rules Match!

Jericho accuses Foley of trying to cause a rift in his New Millenia faction as Foley simply states that there should be nothing wrong with top shelf competition between compatriots. This does not please Jericho who asks Mick if he knows what happens when you try to cause a rift between The New Millenia. Chris holds his pen in the air, clicks it and then adds Mick Foley to “The List” to end the segment.

Bob Backlund has arranged for a major opportunity for Darren Young tonight that could mean incredible things for his career. A pumped up Darren Young asks “Coach” Bob if he secured Darren an opportunity in a main event match but Backlund says no. Young asks if he secured Darren an opportunity at the WWE United States Championship after Clash of Champions but Backlund once again says no. Young sighs and asks if Coach Bob got them a RAW Tag Team Championship match but surprisingly Bob says no once again.

Darren Young's life coach, Bob Backlund has got Darren a match against Braun Strowman. Young nearly falls of his chair at the news and can't believe why his own life coach would do such a thing. Backlund thought that Young would be more grateful much to Darren's surprise. Bob says that a victory over “The Monster” Strowman would cement Darren as one of the top Superstars on RAW. Darren exhales deeply and says that he'll give it a shot before Bob shouts at him to not try but to just do it.

The New Millenia meet backstage. Jericho is still angry at Mick for trying to tear his New Millenia apart. Sami is worried about the whole situation and Kevin Owens...is decked out in “Face of America” merchandise. Jericho asks “what the hell is that” and Owens says that Foley is right and that iron sharpens iron. If The New Millenia want to be the top faction on RAW in the wake of The Authority then they shouldn't have a problem with competing with each other to ensure that they're all in top shape. After all, if Kevin and Sami win the WWE United States Championship then at least it will stay with The New Millenia.

Jericho and Sami start pacing and can't believe what they're hearing. They curse Foley for getting in Kevin's head as Kevin continues his reasoning. He adds that their mission is to bring home the RAW Tag Team Championship and the WWE Universal Championship to The New Millenia and even if Chris were to lose, Kevin would give him all of the rematches that he desires.

Chris goes to put Kevin on the list before simply walking off as Sami trails behind him shouting for Jericho to wait and that they can figure something out.

RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon has an announcement or two to reveal but says that she will only unveil one surprise tonight. She reveals that despite being drafted to SmackDown Live in the WWE Draft and due to contractual developments, John Cena is currently a free agent that will be appearing on RAW going forward as well as fulfilling his duties as a SmackDown Live talent. RAW will be receiving John Cena '10.

Middle Card Promo

The new #1 contender for Brock Lesnar's WWE Universal Championship, “The Man That Gravity Forgot” Neville comes out to the ring and talks about fighting and overcoming all of the odds put in front of him and making fools out of his doubters. At WWE Clash of Champions he will shock the world when he takes down “The Beast” and ends his reign as Universal Champion.

The Authority has planned to strike tonight and make an example out of someone to get everyone on RAW to take notice. Triple H says that tonight will mark the grand return to prominence of The Authority and anyone in his way will end up underneath the boot of “The King of Kings”. The Big Show was given an opportunity to sit at the table of greatness that is The Authority but refused. Now he meets his fate tonight as The Authority has returned.

Jinder will not stand for this disrespect inside of a WWE locker room and calls out...The Rock. “The Great One” embarrasses Jinder on the mic and wins the promo battle.
