Stone Cold Steve Austin is shown arriving and is informed that tonight he has to team up with Kurt Angle to take on D-Generation X in a tag team match. Austin is not pleased by this as he feels that he can take on DX all by himself. He says that Angle better stay out of his way tonight or else he'll have three people looking to kick his ass.

Kurt Angle is asked about how he feels about having to team up with Stone Cold Steve Austin tonight. Angle doesn't know why he was put in this position. He has to team up with one unsavory character to take on two unsavory characters. His mission is to be a role model that everybody can be proud of and Austin and DX are definitely not role models. If Austin wants to turn on him tonight then Angle is going to be ready to fight.

Footage is shown of Edge and Mankind reconnecting on RAW IS WAR this past Monday. They brought up that they both still had their WWE Hardcore Championships (As they were co-Hardcore Champions going into ECW One Night Stand 2006). This would ultimately be a bad omen for Edge as he would put his Hardcore Championship on the line against Ric Flair and would go on to lose it. Tonight on SmackDown, Mick Foley isn't here but Dude Love is and he's defending HIS Hardcore Championship against one of his opponents at Backlash, Faarooq!
