Bayley has picked up some real momentum as of late, picking up big victories over NXT Superstars like Billie Kay and Daria Berenato among others. All that was left for “The Hugger” to do was to call out the #1 contender for the NXT Women's Championship (Peyton Royce) last week on NXT and challenge her to a match where if Bayley won, she would be entered into the NXT Women's Championship match at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II. The NXT General Manager liked this idea and made that big match-up for tonight!

Show Opener Promo

Austin Aries comes out plays footage of himself defeating Hideo Itami two weeks ago on NXT. Aries says that the reason why he's playing that footage back is because he's received word from the NXT GM William Regal that Itami is looking for a rematch. Austin is confused as to why because he has already displayed his superiority over Itami. Aries says that nevertheless, if Itami wants one more round of embarrassment, “The Greatest Man That Ever Lived” will be happy to oblige him with one more defeat next week on NXT.

Hideo Itami comes out to the ring to have a face to face stare down with Aries who clocks Itami with a cheap shot. Itami rolls out of the ring, regains his composure and slides back into the ring to deliver a flurry of strikes on Aries. A brawl breaks down between the two to end the segment.

Tag Team Match

TM-61 (Shane Thorne & Nick Miller) vs The Revival (Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder)

Winners: The Revival (Shatter Machine on Miller)(*** ½ Great)

Post-Match: The Revival attack TM-61 and eliminate them from the ring to end the segment with a statement.

Middle Card Promo

Billie Kay comes out and reveals that NXT GM William Regal has banned from ringside in tonight's main event with Peyton and Bayley. Billie goes on about how unfair that is and then starts to talk about being interrupted last week by Ember Moon and her mind games. As far as Ember is concerned, Billie says that if Mr. Regal is truly a fair man then he will grant Billie her wish for a match at TakeOver: Brooklyn II. Billie Kay wants a match against Ember Moon!

Footage is shown of Peyton Royce picking up a very big victory over Bayley several months ago on NXT. If Peyton can defeat Bayley once more then her NXT Women's Championship match at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II will remain a one on one match-up against the NXT Women's Champion Asuka. In an interview, Peyton explains that she's not worried about losing tonight because she's already proved that Bayley is only one Venus Fly Trap away from losing to Peyton once more.

Footage is shown of No Way Jose victorious in last week's Triple Threat Match to find a worthy opponent for “The Glorious” Bobby Roode at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II. Jose comes out and talks about how last week's victory for him was the biggest win of his career. He talks about how he jumped from the depths of the NXT rankings to just under the NXT Championship level. So if he were to beat Bobby Roode at TakeOver: Brooklyn II then that would mean that No Way Jose would be ranked high enough to challenge for the NXT Championship, something that he's been told he would never do. Jose realizes that this will be Bobby Roode's glorious night but this match has life changing implications for Jose and he is not about to let that opportunity slip through his fingers. No Way, Jose.

The #1 Contender for the NXT Championship “The King of Strong Style” Shinsuke Nakamura calls out the NXT Champion “The Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe. They go back and forth about their upcoming NXT Championship match at TakeOver: Brooklyn II before Nakamura ends the segment defeating Joe in the promo battle.
